Are We Paying Attention Yet?

Obviously things can’t continue to go on as they have been. The more our economy tanks, the more scared people are getting. Unfortunately, fear is the worst response to have. Nothing was ever solved by fear.

If we are to turn this selfish culture of ours around, we are going to have to start thinking about everyone else. The original idea of individuality was a good one. We are all unique individuals with tremendous talent and abilities. When we are focused on self-interest alone, we fail to understand the nature of reality.

We are all here on the planet to be of service to one another. Period. Until we understand this basic concept, we will struggle. We must be concerned with everyone on the planet. It doesn’t matter if we were the richest most powerful nation. We’re falling on our asses because we haven’t learned the economics of faith and unconditional regard for all people. A tragedy anywhere in the planet affects us all.

There are no arbitrary borders that protect us from the effects of Japan’s tragedy. We all occupy the same space and if we don’t begin to live like people with consciences and respect for all people, we will all suffer.

All life is sacred; all people are sacred. We are all children of God.
